This pair of Geese were just being mean. They spent their day evicting those two lovely Cormorants from their favorite pair of rocks just in front of Saint Hubert's Chapel on Lake Kinnelon. On success they did not even use the space. They only wanted the Cormorants to NOT have it.
Those are the males there trying to act tough and fluffing their feathers. I know this because I'm a male of my species and that's how we are. If you want to see a real fight wait until those two females (shown here acting cool) get it on. This was taken from kayak in the springtime. And at a safe distance for sure.
